Why Watch It Now?

Generationally, we may be at a turning point among film directors. The Spielbergs, Scorseseseses, Tarantinos and Andersons of the world have tended to shy away from telling stories set in the present day, most likely because it's hard to make a film about characters who only ever look at their phones. YouTuber-turned-auteur Bo Burnham cleverly leans into this issue by letting the new medium become the new message.
